Sugarbrooke Golf Course is located at Ruttgerās Sugar Lake Lodge, 12 miles southwest of Grand Rapids, MN. This beautiful 18-hole layout presents golfers with many unique combinations of challenge and charm. It has quickly become a favorite destination of many who seek great Minnesota golf and a relaxed north woods environment.

Sugarbrooke is a par 71 golf course on 6,534 yards of gently rolling terrain with woods, water and bunkers all contributing to its variety and quality. It was designed by Joel Goldstrand and opened in 1995.

The 470 yard sixth is a gamblers par-5. After a decent drive, the golfer must hit a long accurate left-to-right shot to reach this gigantic, two-tier green. Pay special attention to the watery grave left of the green.

The fifteenth, a 121-yard par-3, requires an accurate short iron hit to a narrow three-tier green. Two grass bunkers and a water hazard lay waiting to claim any shots which end up short or left.

The sixteenth hole commands respect from every golfer. Long and straight, the hole plays to 444 yards with lateral hazard left and trees all around. Bunkers do not come into play on this hole...for good reason...it didn't need any.
The 160 yard seventeenth sets up beautifully from an elevated tee. The marsh on the left and the two bunkers in front complicate this tee shot while the undulations on the green make any golfer pray for a two-putt.

The eighteenth, a 394-yard par-4, is a spectacular finishing hole. Sugarbrooke meanders its way through the middle of the fairway and in front of this large green forcing the golfer to exhibit both patience and control. Sugar Lake, in the background, accents this beautiful finishing hole completing the Sugarbrooke golf course experience.
